Evergreen Gardenworks Field Trip 2026

Join us for our annual field trip to Evergreen Garden Works in Kelseyville, CA! This is a fantastic opportunity to explore a renowned bonsai nursery, find new trees for your collection, and spend time with fellow bonsai enthusiasts.

Trip Details:

Date: Saturday, March 21, 2026

Meeting Location: Chico Library (1108 Sherman Ave, Chico, CA)

Meet at: 7:00 AM

Departing at: 7:15 AM sharp

We are excited to return to Evergreen Gardenworks. This nursery has become a respected resource for bonsai growers seeking quality material, thoughtful guidance, and species selected with long-term development in mind. Evergreen Gardenworks describes itself as a nursery dedicated to growing traditional, rare, and unusual plant species for bonsai, with all of its plants propagated and grown in the United States. The nursery also offers a plant catalog, ordering information, bonsai images, and a large library of educational resources for growers at many stages of the hobby.

I purchased this tree from Evergreen Gardenworks in 2024, and since then, I have had the chance to continue working on it with guidance from Julian Tsai in 2025 and 2026. That process has truly upped my game when it comes to understanding junipers and the thinking behind the work. These photos show the progression from the original tree to its current state.

We will be carpooling to the nursery, so please indicate in the form if you are willing to drive or need a ride. The drive takes approximately 2.5 hours each way, and we expect to spend a good part of the day at the nursery before returning to Chico in the afternoon.

Open to the public, this field trip is a great chance to experience Evergreen Gardenworks and learn more about bonsai in a welcoming setting. For some, this may simply be a fun visit. For others, it could be the start of a lifelong bonsai journey.

This field trip sounds like a great experience for bonsai enthusiasts. Visiting a nursery like Evergreen Gardenworks must be really inspiring, especially since it focuses on growing rare and unusual plants specifically suited for bonsai development.  It’s always interesting to see how these trees are cultivated before they become fully styled bonsai. I enjoy reading posts like this, though balancing studies and everything else can get busy sometimes, so Native Assignment Help helps me keep up with assignments while still getting time to explore hobbies and topics like bonsai. Sounds like it will be a really enjoyable trip for everyone involved!
