Two Ways to Take Home Bonsai Material Today

We’re making a small change to how drawings at today’s Chico Bonsai Society meeting. There will be two ways to take something home: Door Prizes and the Silent Auction.

Door Prizes

Every current member will receive a blue door-prize ticket, just like always.

Members are also encouraged to bring donations of plant material, pots, tools, bonsai supplies, books, or other bonsai-related items that another member might enjoy.

At the end of the meeting, we will begin drawing blue tickets. When your number is called, you may:

• Choose any available door-prize item, or

• Pass and have another ticket drawn.

We’ll continue drawing tickets until all donated door prizes are gone.

This gives everyone a chance to win while allowing each winner to choose something they can actually use.

Silent Auction

We will also have a Silent Auction for selected bonsai material and other items.

A bid sheet will be placed next to each auction item. Members can write down their bids throughout the meeting, and we will announce a last call for bids near the end of the meeting.

The highest bidder at closing wins the item.

So whether you’re hoping to win something with your blue ticket or find something special in the Silent Auction, be sure to take a look at what’s available—and if you have something bonsai-related you’re ready to pass along, bring it with you!
